Botox®

Botox® is a brand name for the purified form of botulinum toxin type A, which is produced by bacteria, Clostridium botulinum. It is an injection of extremely small doses to paralyse muscles that are causing wrinkles. It cannot “freeze” your facial expressions, because it only works where you want it to. This works best in the frown areas and smile lines around the eyes. The effect lasts approximately 6 months.

Perlane

Also known as Hyaluronic acid, which is produced in a more viscous injectable form. The treatment lasts approximately a year and can be used primarily for filling if the lips, but also to alter contour deformities in the face and to fill deep wrinkle lines, such as those of the naso-labial folds and corners of the mouth.

Restylane

Also known as Hyaluronic acid, which occurs normally in the body. Restylane is safe and is used to fill out wrinkle lines; especially in the eyelid, lip and nasal labial fold areas. Treatment lasts anywhere from 3 –6 months.
